High Point University
High Point, NC
D.H. Griffin Construction provided general contracting services to High Point University to transform a former Circuit City retail building into a state-of-the-art laboratory to study and help improve the performance of athletes, one of two such facilities in the country. The Human Biomechanics and Physiology laboratory is an 11,000 SF facility that is used by athletes ranging from HPU’s own athletic teams to NFL players in order to improve their performance and injury recoveries. Technology fills the building, with equipment such as a 3D motion analysis system for documenting how the body responds during individual movements using sensors, high-speed motion capture cameras, hyperbaric oxygen chambers and anti-gravity treadmills.
